01 When melancholia is a surge, noise runs wild
02 A milky layer hides many things
03 Bulky blur as an aware presence in the room
04 This smell is sharp
05 Obviously, tenderness is my favorite diorama
06 Where stillness turns crispy, mess feels warm
07 Listen to that sound
Prologue
In a home with only one room, what appears superfluous is missing, though it is not.
There are the bathroom, the fridge, and the bed.

Narrative
At home, there is only the bed. Dissatisfaction with the future takes the form of staying in it all day. For others, managing time means scrolling through social media, exercising to exhaustion, or shopping compulsively. In bed, instead, time unfolds without direction, and the difference between a day and an hour disappears. Having nothing to do, knowing you could do something, and still not doing it. Procrastination then becomes more appealing than anything else because it only appears to silence thoughts. When individual fulfillment becomes the measure of relationships, they are reduced to competition. Exposed to judgment, fragility becomes shame. Perfection erases differences and makes images interchangeable. Fragility interrupts the repetition.

Stillness cannot be interrupted by an act of will. When a detail holds your attention, photographing it becomes more appealing than staying in bed, and time stops passing without direction. An armchair, like any other subject, cannot be separated from the way it is seen. Analog photography and low resolution do not correct the fragility of the image; they preserve it. Where visual information is reduced, imagination becomes part of the vision. Details, objects, and everyday fragments are gathered into chapters. Satisfaction comes from collecting rather than from the final result.

Not Bed is the beauty of the ordinary in the space between one act of procrastination and the next.
Getting out of bed, in the end, isn’t bad at all.
Not Bed.
